What services does the Taiwan Geographic Information Center (TGIC) offer?
TGIC has six divisions to offer data processing, technology research and development, talent cultivation, and advisory services. Pease visit the About Us or Services for the service details of individual divisions.

How can I provide GIS information?
You can e-mail us or call us at (02) 2393-1122. Should you have any questions, please e-mail us at tgicservice@tgic.org.tw. Your questions will be answered shortly.

I want to visit TGIC, how can I get there?
TGIC is located at 6F, No. 7, Section 1, Roosevelt Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City.
【Taipei Metro】
Exit No. 4, Yumin Building, National CKS Memorial Hall Station
【Bus】
Take routes 15 and 208 and get off at the MRT National CKS Memorial Hall Station stop. Walk backward for about 200m. Take route 248 and get off at the MRT National CKS Memorial Hall Station (Aiguo) stop. Walk toward Lane 9, Section 1, Roosevelt Road and turn right.
【Parking】
You can park your car in the underground parking garage of National CKS Memorial Hall (entrance on Aiguo East Road near MRT Exit No. 5); the parking lot in Jinhua Street (No. 21 Jinhua Street); the underground parking garage of Zhongzheng District Office (entrance at No. 8, Roosevelt Road, between the office and Jinfeng Minced Pork Rice Store); and Yangde Building parking garage (No. 5, Section 1, Nanchang Road).

What is OPEN DATA?
In 2012, the council meeting of the Executive Yuan passed the opening of government data through the following three principles: “open government data for use by citizens and enterprises”; “free of charge but charge for exceptions,” and “mass, automatic, and systematic release and exchange of data.”

What is BIG DATA?
Proposed by the IBM in 2010, “Big Data” refers to data characterized by volume, velocity, and variety. In 2013, CommonWealth Magazine added “veracity” to the original 3V’s. Every day people produce a large volume of data, including posting article on social media, GPS information from mobile devices, digital pictures and images, shopping records, etc. They all form part of the big data.
