Technology Research and Development

The aim of technology research and development is to provide effective support service for decision-makers of the public and private sectors to capture real-time information when there are difficulties in making decisions. After the analysis of field experts, we further provide information favoring decision making. For this aim, we achieve government resources integration, reduce repeated construction, and promote the expansion of geospatial information cooperation among the industry, the government, the academia, and research institutions to develop the following applied technologies for information integration and analysis:

1. Geospatial information sharing and integration
This Center is equipped with the ability to share and integrate geospatial information to integrate information of different sources and formats (TXT/CSV text tiles, Excel, and various vector layers and databases) into geospatial information (WFS, WMS, WMTS, JSON, SHP, and KML) and databases (RDBMS, RDF triplestore) for mutual use as the data foundation for decision-making analysis and sharing platform construction.

2. Decision-making analysis of geospatial information
This Center is equipped with geospatial information analysis ability. Whether it is national land planning, national land restoration, location economies, environmental and resource conservation, disaster information processing, or open data analysis, we can generate geospatial analysis results using different kinds of processing functions of geospatial information by the GIS server and the custom web API services, and present these results on the interactive decision support webpage to provide reference for relevant units to make geospatial decisions.

3. Planning and construction of a common platform
This Center assists the NGIS Steering Team in constructing the NGIS common operating platforms for different units to browse and obtain the geospatial information of individual units over a common platform for information circulation under NGIS’ distributed organizational framework.

4. Integration services for transport management
This Center aggressively provides total solutions for transport management and police administration for government of different levels. We have formed a professional team to implement the outsourcing business and projects for on-street parking fee collection, such as the rental of PDA ticketing equipment and the construction of back-end management systems. In the future, we plan to incorporate sensors, cloud computing, and the GIS to gradually achieve smart on-street parking management.
